SBC Field Trip to Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge: Thursday, July 6 @ 8-10:45AM. We met at PHNWR HQ covered with insect repellent and mesh which did little to deter the biting bugs! We walked the Boardwalk Trail and Observation Trail. We spent a few minutes on the field trail behind the cemetery but were driven away by the mosquitos. It was a hot day with sun and clouds. We got a good look at early migrant shorebirds on the marsh mud flats. There is one eBird checklist listing 47 species. (Photo©RichGiannola)
