SBC Field trip to Fowler Beach 2-5PM
35+ members of the Sussex Bird Club assembled in the parking lot at the end of Fowler Beach Rd. We walked out to the bayshore and looked for shorebirds, sea ducks and passerines. We were treated to extended views of Horned Larks and Snow Buntings in the dune area. We then walked back to the parking lot and waited for short-eared owls. First, we enjoyed views of three Northern Harriers, and about 4:15 a "Shortie" appeared and gave us great views as it flew low over the marsh.
