SBC Field Trip to the Great Cypress Swamp, hosted by DE Wild Lands staff.
The Great Cypress Swamp is some 10,000 acres of restricted access, forested wetlands. It is the remnant of a huge bald cypress, Atlantic white cedar swamp in southern Delaware and northern Maryland. 18 SBC members participated. We assembled at the Roman Fisher Farm. The first eBird checklist lists 15 species seen in the barn area, before we entered the swamp. The second checklist includes 57 species recorded in the swamp!
