Cape Henlopen Hawk Watch needs volunteers! The count starts Thursday September 1 and continues daily through November 30. You are invited to help with the raptor count and provide our in-kind matching contribution to earn continued funding for next year. Please consider spending an hour or the day (9-4) at the hawk watch. No registration is required. Show up at the Hawk Watch platform and identify yourself as a volunteer.
Volunteers do not need to be expert in raptor identification. All are welcome. One requirement of the grant that funds the hawk watch is to train volunteer hawk watchers.
Please welcome back Jen Ottinger as our paid counter for another successful year. Sue Gruver, and other volunteers, will again assist Jen by taking notes and spotting raptors. We especially need volunteers on Jen's days off (Sunday and Monday).
